Interim Executive Leadership (General Manager) Services
Purpose
In the event of a leadership transition, vacancy, or organizational disruption, MJ Executive Recruiting Group (“Firm”) may provide an Interim General Manager (“Interim Executive”) to ensure operational continuity while a permanent placement is secured.
Scope of Services
The Interim Executive will:
- Provide day-to-day operational leadership
- Stabilize team performance and morale
- Maintain service standards and financial discipline
- Support ownership and board-level communication
- Assist in onboarding and transition of permanent hire
Term
- Interim assignments are provided for a period of up to ninety (90) days
- Extensions may be granted upon mutual written agreement
Fee Structure
Interim services shall be billed as follows:
- Option A (Recommended – Premium Positioning):
- Daily rate OR monthly retainer
- Option B (Bundled with Search Engagement):
- Reduced interim rate when paired with retained executive search
- Portion of interim fees may be credited toward final placement fee (optional, strategic)
Expenses
Client shall reimburse all reasonable business expenses, including:
- Travel and lodging
- Meals and incidentals
- Temporary housing (if required)
Authority and Reporting
- The Interim Executive shall report directly to ownership, the board, or a designated executive
- Authority level shall be defined in writing prior to commencement
- The Interim Executive shall operate within agreed-upon financial and operational parameters
Relationship to Search Engagement
- Interim service may run concurrently with executive search
- The Interim Executive may assist in evaluating candidates, but will not influence the final hiring decision without client approval
Conversion Option
If the client elects to hire the Interim Executive into a permanent role:
“The standard executive placement fee shall apply, less any agreed interim service credit.”
Liability and Indemnification
- The Interim Executive acts as an independent contractor of the Firm
- The client retains ultimate authority over operational decisions
- The Firm shall not be liable for business outcomes resulting from interim operational decisions made in good faith
